Foreign Ministry calls on Jordanians in Turkey, Syria to call hotlines

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Monday called on Jordanian citizens in Turkey and Syria to contact the Jordanian embassies in Ankara and Damascus at any time by calling the following hotline numbers.

Monday morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that a crisis cell in the operations room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been activated, in addition to another crisis cell in the Jordanian embassies in Ankara and Damascus to check on Jordanians following the Gaziantep earthquake in Turkey, which left dozens dead in Syria and Turkey.

The ministry's official spokesperson, Sinan Majali, told Roya that the ministry "is in contact with those concerned and has activated hotlines... to check on the Jordanians in the affected areas."

Majali stressed that the embassies are communicating with the authorities in the concerned areas, through the crisis cell in their operations rooms, stressing that there is no information "so far" that Jordanians have been affected.
